NBA Draft Diary: Quincy Miller Profile

Quincy Miller 6’9″ Small Forward – Baylor

Strengths: Quincy Miller is a scorer. It is that simple. He is a combo forward, but because of his thin frame, he will primarily play small forward in the NBA. Miller has inside and outside game. He handles the ball like Kevin Durant and models a lot of his game after him. He tore his ACL a year and a half ago, and it shows in his game. Miller would likely be a top-5 pick if it weren’t for the knee injury. Whenever his knee completely heals, he will remind people of a poor man’s Kevin Durant.

Weaknesses: Miller will need to bulk up if he is going to be an effective defender. He played out of position at Baylor, so he will have some adjusting to do his rookie season. The ACL injury slowed down his game. He is not quite the explosive athlete he once was. The sky is the ceiling, assuming his knee makes a full recovery. If not, he could be Darius Miles.

2011-2012 Statistics: 10.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.4 apg

NBA Comparison: Kevin Durant/Darius Miles
